Harvest Youth Ministry

I'm super excited about Harvest, a brand new youth ministry for middle school and high school age students, which will be led by 6 of the coolest, on fire for the Lord college age adults I've ever had the privilege to know. Harvest was born out of their desire to reach teens in a way that their own youth groups had not. The tag line says it all: serious fun and fellowship with God and each other.

The kick-off event is a bonfire on November 8th at 6pm at Peace Lutheran Church on 12th Street in Otsego. Then beginning November 15th they will be meeting at our very own InTents Life Church building every Sunday from 6pm - 7:30pm. There will be live worship, meaningful time spent in the Word, lots of fun, and of course, food.

The college age leaders are made up of 3 girls (one of them being our very own Colleen) and 3 guys. Pastor Dave will be discipling the guys for a year and I have the awesome gift of discipling the girls. Our first session together was Sunday night and truly we love each other already. There will always be at least one adult on site lending support during each youth group gathering.

It has been the coolest thing to see how God has raised this up. I'm so excited for our teens and their friends who don't have a youth group they're already plugged into. Please be in prayer for Harvest's leaders: Will, Jordan, Nick, Colleen, Shannon, and Emily. It is their heart's desire to grow in the Lord as they lead those younger than them to do the same. Now, is that a God thing, or what?!?

Yes, that sounds like a God thing to me. I hope it becomes an awesome ministry and that God does a marvelous work in countless numbers of teen's lives. There are huge challenges facing today's youth. May God bless this to become a mighty equipping tool to help them overcome.

Hi Ginny, I haven't seen a post from you for a while, I pray good things are happening with your family and for Amy.

Rick and I are praying for these young men and women that God has raised up.....we know the devil will not be happy about this so we are covering them with lots of prayer. We also KNOW GOD will be glorified!!!
