Mission Accomplished

I'm back from the middle of the middle of nowhere and it was beautiful. Thankfully there were no technical difficulties this time around and for the most part the weather cooperated. Mark and I had a blast and we're already dreaming of all the places we will go someday. It's always good to dream. :)

This picture was taken in Copper Harbor, the northern most spot in the Upper Peninsula, right outside our motel room. It was an incredible spot for some quiet time with the Lord.

Between the view and Kay Arthur bringin' home the Word of God, this was one of my favorite moments.

Here We Go Again. I Hope.

Holding to the old adage, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again, we're making another attempt to head up north on the bike. Say a prayer for us! :)

Actually, I'm sure we're gonna be just fine, but prayers for safety and good weather would be greatly appreciated.

Every Bunny Needs Some Bunny To Love

Prepare to fall in love, girls! The bunnies are 3.5 weeks old and too cute for words. There are 7 all together and they still love to sleep in a pile. They've started cleaning each other which is super sweet to watch. I just wish they cleaned up after each other! The kids have named each one and are trying to talk us in to keeping 2. The jury is still out on that one. :)

Our dynamic duo! The one on the left is call Stash which is very appropriate considering the little black stripe perched across his face. This is one that the kids are wanting to keep, so until the Bunny Whisperer, a.k.a. Rocketman, a.k.a. The Boss Man makes up his mind, for now it's not on the market. The cutie on the right is Diva Jr. She doesn't just look like her mama, she acts like her too!

Awwwww, I love this picture.

Diva, the mama that started it all. I must say she's been a wonderful mother which has been a blessing. I told Nathan if we keep up at this rate we'll have 300 rabbits within 6 months. Needless to say, Nathan is N E V E R taking Diva to school with him again.

This little guy/girl (I've tried to figure out what they are but they all look the same and I can't tell what I'm looking at yet) is the prettiest shade of brown and has the thickest hair of the group. We call it Ch-ch-ch-chia.

Look at those feet!

There is another black rabbit that Nathan would not even allow to be photographed because it's his fave. That bunny is all black with a white strip down the middle of his face, a white dot on his nose and a white left front paw. He has been quite appropriately named MJ. You'll be the first to know if he starts moon walking. :D

A Call To Anguish

This is the YouTube video of David Wilkerson, titled A Call to Anguish, that we watched during the service Saturday evening. Laura had requested it but I figured there might be others who would want to hear it again too. Crista sent it to me a month ago and it pierces me every time I hear it. The passion in the voice of this man who has served God from a pulpit for 50 years is inspiring and convicting all at the same time.

I pray we'll catch what Pastor Wilkerson has.

I Think I've Lost The Will To Blog!

I definitely haven't had the time to blog lately but here's some quick news on a few things that have been happening in our neck of the woods.

*Most of you know by now that the open road wasn't calling our name on the 9th. We broke down in Lake City and our vacation plans quickly came to a halt. Fortunately we were left stranded at a DQ by a park at a lake so we burried our sorrows in a Blizzard while we sat on a picnic table under a wonderful shade tree by the water. If you're going to break down, trust me, that's the spot to do it! Don't feel sorry for us though, we're going to try it again a week from Sunday. If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. :)

*The bunnies are growing and are absolutely adorable. I think there are 4 of them and I'm already praying that there won't be any hurt feelings among all of you since there aren't enough for everyone. I will be doing a lottery and can't wait to announce the winners! :D

*To update you on Ginny, she and Amy made it home last Saturday. Ginny became very ill (vomiting) during the trip and even ended up going to ER Sunday night. She's still weak but feeling better. Please pray for all of them as they begin the process of becoming a family. I'm sure Ginny will give us a report when she has the chance.

*For a brief moment last night we thought Andrew and Sara would be coming home to spend the night. They ended up having a change of plans but I instructed Hannah that she needed to tidy up in the living room and clean her bedroom. I then headed out for the evening as I had plans of my own. When I got home there was a note waiting for me from my darling daughter.

Hey Mom,

Sorry the house isn't super clean... Around 11:30, I realized we were
supposed to clean up a bit. I tried. :/

I will do my room in the morning. (Even tho I don't want to. I'm
doing so for the Lord.)

Love,

Hannah

How great is that?!? The child is too much. So girls, if you're facing something you don't want to do, just do it for the Lord!

Love ya,

The Open Road Is Calling My Name

This is going to be short and sweet as Mark just informed me we're getting up at 6a.m. to head to the U.P. and I'm not done packing yet. We'll be home late in the afternoon on Monday and I'm hoping we don't come back with frost bite. The news just said it's getting down to 33 degrees tonight in the Porcupine Mountains which is one of our stops. Life with Rocketman has surely been one adventure after another for the past 23 years!

Jill will be holding down the fort on the home front. She came with enough fireworks to light up all of Alamo. We set a few off tonight and one shot out fireballs that sent us all running and screaming. I'm praying the house is still standing when we get back. If you hear sirens, start praying! :D

Ladies Bible study will still meet and Pastor Dave will be speaking on Saturday. I'm convinced I'm going to miss all kinds of good stuff! I'll for sure miss all of you.

Love you,

Aunt Ginny and Amy will be heading home to the good ol' USA on Friday if all the final paperwork gets processed according to schedule tomorrow. Please pray for their safe return.

Watership Down

Remember the story about the domestic bunny we found hopping through our yard a couple months ago? Remember how I said I didn't know where she was going but she for sure wasn't staying??? Well, surprise, surprise, Diva's still here. I'm rather late in posting a picture of her, but better late than never.

Isn't she cute? Mark often lets her have the run of the barn so she doesn't have to be cooped up all the time.

Well, this is where the story gets interesting. Nathan's roommate at school has a petite pet bunny named Mosey, because he's always moseying around. Nathan took Diva back with him a month ago on a short week so he could show off our ginormous rabbit.

Fast forward to this past Saturday. Out in the barn Nathan came upon something rather interesting behind Mark's oil drums. See picture below:

Yes, that would be a rabbit's nest. And yes, it's filled with at least 6 babies as far as we can tell. To quote Hannah, "I blame Nathan." We are thinking that His roommate should have to pay child support. My pictures aren't very good, but here's Mark holding one of the babies. They can already hop!

As if this story wasn't crazy enough, 2 weeks ago Mark accidently ran over a nest of wild rabbits out in the field. As soon as he realized what he'd done he checked to see if any had survived. One had so Mark scooped it up and took it to the barn and put it in the kennell with Diva. Diva wasn't too happy, bit it's little behind and the baby scurried out between the bars of the cage.
Evidently that little guy/girl (who's been named Nugget) has taken a liking to the barn because several times Mark has seen it hop back into the cage for food. So now there's a dish set out for it in the barn along with a little bowl of water. I witnessed Nugget eating and drinking this weekend and he's totally unphased if Mark gets close to it him.

We're now calling Mark the bunny whisperer. Bless his heart, there are rabbit droppings from one end of his barn to the other! If we're not careful we'll be able to right our own version of Watership Down. I tried to read that book when I was younger and hated it. Now I think we're living it. :)

How's That For Confirmation?!?

Would you please humor me by scrolling down to read today's verse that is located on the sidebar to the right?

Did you read it? Now if you read yesterday's post you might be feeling like God's trying to drive Hebrews 11:6 home to us! This is no coincidence. I don't know about you, but He's got my attention. One of the coolest things about being in relationship with the Almighty is seeing Him consistently confirm His Truth in my life.

And I love it so much when God seemingly bends over backwards to make sure I know that He's involved in my daily existence. How has the Lord reassured you lately that He is at work in you or your current situation? Maybe it's something small or huge - it doesn't matter. Let's build one another's faith by testifying about our faithful God!
